New exhaust set up
Ok guys I am looking for a new exhaust set up. car is 99 camaro ss vrx4 cam m6. I have tsp long tube headers and ory going to a magnaflow cat back. I was thinking of going to tsp true duel dumps but swapping the bullets out for borla xr1. Looking for input on fit and sound I seen someone has done this but can find it again. Oval or round? Difference on sportsman vs multicore on the muffler.

After seeing some of the ground clearance issues with these true dual setups, I'd just maybe consider a cutout it you want that little extra sound or power. That's just me though

I have the Hooker Blackheart true duels on mine and have zero clearance issues. I ended up V-banding the headers to this exhaust and the clamp is the lowest point and very rarely scrapes on anything except when I go a little too fast over speed bumps. My car is lowered on strano springs as well. Very impressed with the quality and fitment.

The tsp catback with cutout caught my interest. I wouldnt ditch a magnaflow for it though. Throw an electric cutout in the I pipe if you want more sound, Or if its for racing just do a cheap plate.

I agree with trilkb , look at the TSP catback with cutout and get a QTP electric valve. The TSP is louder than a Magnaflow but sounds really damn good and the cutout makes it scream.

Personal opinion (as sound is subjective) - I thought my dumped duals sounded the best. I went through a Magnaflow catback, SLP LM1, Magnamouth... Plus, I hate a Camaro with exhaust tips. It just doesn't look right to me. Couple that with the fact you couldn't pay me to run a cut-out... (Personal opinion, nothing more)
For ground clearance, I had the old mild steel system. That actually worked to my benefit bc I was able to go to a regular exhaust shop and cut / weld / tweak some things.
I just picked up a 35k mile 02 SS and will be doing the dumped duals again, stainless this time. The only change I'm making is running Magnaflow 14419's as I'm not a fan of the Borla mufflers.
Angle the dumps outboard at a 45* angle (towards the tires) and it'll cut some of the resonance in the cabin. It is duals though. They'll be loud, but not ridiculous-obnoxious.
My 01 SS in sig was at 11.7 compression with AFR 205's @ 59cc and a 229/236 112+2 cam just to give you an idea of engine mods I had.
Here's the first startup of that system after install:

well ended up selling my speed engineering true duel set up and used the money toward the tsp longtubes and catback with cutout. Fit is awesome and the exhaust sounds nice. Couldn't be happier.
