I'd love to hear more on this, considering Cary from ETP went to Mast... I'm aware there's a few companies that actually copied Mast, not the other way around.

On the serious side, PW lists a pair of heads for $1300. These are bare heads with valve guides only. Each Mast head costs about $1240. The picture on Mast's site shows a bare head but also has a drop flag to upgrade to better springs and the type of valves. I selected the valves and added the head to the cart. It came out as the listed price of $1240. I added a spring upgrade, and the price jumped to $1590 a piece. No other options are listed. So, I assume the head is fully assembled with options available or you get a head with valves but no springs, which seems wrong.

If so, when adding the needed parts to the PW head, the cost is about the same.... For instance, 650 for the head, say 200 or more for valves, 200 or more for springs, and 200 or more for TI retainers. Plus you have to do the valve job and assemble the head. If the Mast heads are fully assembled, this is a no brainer. You are at over 2,000 for the PW heads set up and ready to install. Check out Mast's site yourself.

Their customer service seems to be a bit lacking according to some accounts.

That I agree with. When I had my small bore LS3 heads and needed some specific information they were a bit difficult to get on the phone.

Well I guess you can save a little money, but at what quality? Type of valves etc?? Plus, the type of machine work. For me it doesn't add up. I am using ported 243s.

I think the Chevy small bore heads have 70cc chambers and only flow 280 out of the box. They are available from Scroggin Dickey.
