Default Main side bolt sealer?

Is there some sort of a sealer that comes on the the flange of the side bolts for the main caps? Im worried about oil leaking from behind them. Let me know what youve done or suggestions.

Use RTV on those. My source is "How to Rebuild GM LS-Series Engines" by Chris Werner.

Agree with G. I’ve built quite a few ls engines, and I use grey rtv fairly liberally on the underside of the side bolts. If you do not use a sealant, they will leak.

Good heads-up on the grade of RTV. That's where I was in the dark.... Something temperature-tolerant, I would assume....

The stock bolts have an orange sealer under the head. I like to use Right Stuff on them whether its stock bolts or ARP.
