Default Hooker Blackhawk Clamps

With all the discussion of exhaust band clamps I was wondering if anyone has had any problems with the clamps that come with the Hooker Blackhawk exhaust systems.

Hooker BlackHawk never heard of that one. Is it new?

I have a Hooker BlackHeart true dual 2.5 inch exhaust on my 99 Trans Am. The shop doing the engine install didn't have any issues with the BlackHeart. Everything has stayed in placed etc. Excellent ground clearance and 99TA is on SLP Eibach springs so probably 3/4 to 1 inch lower than stock.

Let us know what you think of the BH. It seems like the one on the 99TA got a little louder after about 2,000 miles.

Hooker could do a BlackHawk - same but delete mufflers, like an SLP loudmouth.

Got started today. Trying to get the old exhaust off while the car is on ramps and jack stands is a real challenge. Thank God for sawzalls.

Sorry about the Heart vs Hawk, I must have been thinking about a comic book series I used to read when I was a kid.

So I have hookers bh exhaust, and I've had nothing but leaks all over the car. I dont know if I just got a bad setup or what but literally every joint has leaked on me, Including the torca clamps.

Got everything on but unable to get the junction to the X-pipe high enough to get the crossmember to fit. Will have to wait til I can get it to a friends shop with a lift to try to get everything to fit properly. Working on your back isn't the most comfortable position. Since I had 21 below and snow covered streets this morning it will probably be a while til this project is finished. The clamps did seem to do a good job.

Not that dedicated, lol/ Working in a heated garage but to keep the gas bill down. it's kept to about 55 degrees which isn't to bad. It's the age that gets to you.

Hey, a sweatshirt will keep 55 manageable, at least. Keep at it man!

I can state from experience what it's like to change a starter outside at 20 below and a flat tire at 30 below.

All joking aside, please be safe and very careful when it's so incredibly cold outside. LS1TECH needs all of its excellent members

I changed a tire outside once in the snow on the side of the interstate at a mere 7 degrees with only a little wind and thought I was going to turn into an ice cube.

That cold doesn't play. I can't imagine being in -21
