Broke a Sensor swapping intake manifold-Please identify it for me
As usual, I broke something working on the Trans Am (2000 LS1). I'm swapping out the LS1 intake for an LS6 intake. At the rear, top of the engine I broke off a sensor. It is the sensor beside the CPM (towards the driver side). The pic below is from the interwebz but I am pretty sure this is the thing I broke.
Here is the broken part.
here is what it looks like where it broke
Here is the location looking over the driver side fender into the engine. Yes it is a mess in there and I promise to clean if before I reassemble everything!

thank you! I did some googling and clearly I'm as bad at that as I am at replacing manifolds because that is a pretty common sensor. Anyway, thanks for the quick response. The good news is I was hoping to spend an extra $100 on this project (sarcasm).
Cheers!!
Cheers!!

Yep oil sender, very common to break. Give particular care to the brake booster vacuum line at the back of the intake, making sure you lift it over the top of the sender before moving the intake all the way back into position. I know it's a pain in the rear doing it under the damned cowl.

I didn’t really see this as a glass half full situation but I’ll take is as such-haha. Thanks for putting a positive spin on it for me! I got a Delco replacement for $50 on Amazon so I didn’t think that was too bad. Local dealer wanted $150 for it. Yikes.
