Default 92mm tb to a 90mm intake?

I was wondering if you could put a smaller dia. tb in front of a larger opening intake? I have a tbss intake (90 mm), 92mm throttle body`s seem to be less money. Was looking at holly`s Sniper. Any insight is appreciated.

Stay away from the Holley Sniper TB, they have idle issues. Get a Warr 92 TB off ebay. Those have a pretty good reputation. 92 will fit the 90. Might have to open the inner lip of the intake slightly but most open just fine.

HEY big hammer, was your holley a snipper? Or what? Seems like they should have something good for as long as they have been in the fuel business.

Everyone seems to love the Warr throttle bodies. Say they work great and don't have tuning issues with it.

If you put a 92mm throttle body on a 90mm intake opening, you'll have a ridge all the way around that is bad for flow, needs to be a smooth transition.

I would think that the slight gap would almost be like an air dam, reducing air velocity into the intake. Probably negligible but I dunno?
