Default jet hot or hooker?

These two headers seem very similar in price and quality. Any preference to another? There both about the most im willing to spend on a set of headers, cant really bring my self to spend 1100ish on qmp or kooks. Any people with advice on ease of install of these and fitment, your help would be appreciated.

Can't go wrong with either one but I'd still say Jet Hots...thicker gauge tubing and thicker flanges.
Plus I think the O2 bungs are facing the inside (center of the car) as opposed to outside.

I love my hookers fit with plenty of room to spare.. but like LS1LT1 said they do face the outside.. but if you take a minute to trim the heat shields there is no problem

Jet hots are thicker and are almost identical to Hookers. The Jet Hot advantage is the coating. A lot of guys that went with coated Hookers have rust coming through the coating after 6 months. Mine are a year old and look new plus Jets are cheaper. $511 shipped to your home vss $670 shipped for hookers.

I have jet hots and if i had it all to do over again i would go with QTP`s i have a few friends that have them and their cars feel stronger and sound better to me, i would just save up a little bit more dough but if you are on a budget and its something you have been waanting really bad and want to get done really bad go ahead they are ok

Look at pics of both brand headers. They are the exact same design. Go with whichever you can get the cheapest...

Doesnt hooker send them to jet hot to be coated? If so wouldnt that be jet hots fault if they are rusting already? Not trying to flame anybody but after they get coated its all on jet hot on how long they last right?

even if that is the case, think of it this way...if you were Jet-Hot, and your competition (Hooker) was sending you stuff to coat, would you coat them as well as your own product?

uhhh.... wouldnt that be tarnishing their own reputation since it would be widely known that it is THEIR coating on the headers???

Don't forget JetHot was selling the coated Hookers long before they designed their own headers. I'm sure they don't mind coating for Hooker still. They're still making money either way.

BTW, I _had_ the Hookers and sold them to buy the JetHot's. Yes, the tube design is the same, but the quality of the JetHot's versus the Hookers is hands down 100x better. Thicker flanges, thicker tubing, better welds, just an overall cleaner, nicer header.

When I called Hooker, they told me the name of the company that coated there headers and it wasn't Jet Hot. I cant remember the name but give them a call and they will tel you.

Go with the Jet Hots as the advantages have allready been mentioned. Basically you are getting a Hooker Header that has had all the minor bugs worked out and also costs less. One word of warning in going with the Hookers or Jet Hots is if you do not keep them clean around the collectors they will rust. I polish mine up every oil change and they look almost new, but if you let them go they won't look purty any more.
