You wouldn't have a part number on that Magnaflow muffler would you? I've got their 4" but running the Flowmaster 40 race series and want to switch it up.

I'm going to have to get the kit now that allows you to adjust the panhard bar(roll center) because mine is freakin wacked.
That's good to know and thanks for saving me 600 bucks as I was looking to get a Watts link and never could get a straight answer on if a 4" exh would be possible to use with it. What Watts did you have? MWC?

I think the Watts Link may be of benefit on the road course but I'm not sure it's of much benefit on the street. I noticed that the odd jacking mid corner was eliminated once I did the torque arm relocation kit.

This may be it, Magnaflow #14153. I would call Denny at Mufflex to confim.

Fays 2. I got one from Sam Strano when they were first released back in the day.

I realized one day that i can use an electric cut out, kind of backwards to it's intended purpose. The 4" electric cut out itself is mounted on the straight side of the Y junction at the rear, mounted just before the tailpipe.

I open the cut out and have a single 4" straight through with no muffler. Sounds nasty, but not anywhere near open header loud. I close the cut out and the engine pumps through a single 2.5" pipe and muffler all heat wrapped to make it neighbour and suburbs friendly. Best of both worlds. I tucked the little muffler up as high as possible so it's barely noticeable from behind and only the 4" dump pipe shows. I also left more than enough clearance to run a thick drag rear sway bar, I just haven't needed one yet.

I've been thinking about this more. I went to a 3" y-pipe setup with a QTP e-cutout and it worked about as good as the true duals while being way quieter and providing more ground clearance on the 346.

Well, I've talked to American Racing, and they do their 2" Headers with a 3.5" collector... and a 3.5" y-pipe setup to a 4" outlet. I think that will support 700HP no problem with a decent muffler on an e-cutout situation. So I'm thinking the Spintech 4" in and dual 3" out crossflow muffler and the ARH setup would be quiet and still support insane power.

Of course, I could just run dual 3" cutouts... but I don't want the difference in power to be 70-80HP. Keeping the same tune for both is important. And running dual 3.5" pipes for a while to a 4" dump should be good for as much power as 3" duals... I guess I can test and see! But of course much quieter.

And I ran several different mufflers on my Kooks 3" TDs and never found anything I could live with.

If you like you current exhaust, but worried it isnt flowing enough I think dual 3" cutouts after the headers would be the best money spent.

For the others in this thread I seen mentioning swapping the flowmaster for the magnaflow on the 4" mufflex, I just swapped out the flowmaster on my 4" mufflex with the magnaflow, its definitely different but I like it. I used Magnaflow 14153. I had to weld a hanger on the tail pipe in a different spot then the one used for the flowmaster.

I am currently running a single 3" walker bullet muffler dumped before rear axle and it sounds cool, much like an older fox body mustang and not a dump truck. I plan on upgrading to a larger 3.5" Beyea muffler (part# muf3.5) and pipe for more flow. I will lightly weld the 3.5 pipe to my SLP Y pipe to connect muffler. Summit sells this muffler and has a built in turn down. Beyea also sells quiter versions of this muffler (part# mufq3.5)

One of the best upgrades we all can do is to remove weight from our cars to be quicker and the single 3.5 muffler dumped before rear axle helps remove lots of weight. IMO the 4" is much too big...and heavy

FYI,

The upper panhard bar relocation kit gives a crazy amount of room for the single 4 inch exhaust.
