Lightbulb Single 4" exhaust ???s

Quick Question, People who have single 4" mufflex or similar systems with 400+ cu engines, what y pipes are yall using? Went to a SE true dual system on my 408 with LS3 top end ported, not exactly happy with how the system hangs in certain spots (louisiana roads aren't the greatest), not wanting to bang up a brand new exhaust i can possibly sell to offset the cost. Any dyno comparisons to true duals and a single 4"? Thanks in advance.

Volume wise, 4” single isn’t much less then dual 3”. I have a 4” mufflex system, also using a mufflex y pipe with flowmaster merge.

How low is your car? Mine is pretty low and i was able to tuck up my SE duals pretty good. I don’t scrape on much much if anything.

Good clearance.

Sell the axle back and dump it bro lol.

Looks like it tucks nicely. The Upper PHB brace gets deleted with the 4" system?

That Mufflex setup looks really nice. I installed the Founders relocation panhard bar to help clear the 4in Mufflex setup. I had a Watts setup and it was obvious the Mufflex exhaust wasn't going to fit...no where close.

I'm going to have to get the kit now that allows you to adjust the panhard bar(roll center) because mine is freakin wacked.

I don't believe so.

If it does...that's a bad idea. GM felt the need to spend the money on that piece for a reason.

Headers are speed engineering 1 7/8”. I just got this car as a roller middle/end of summer and swapped my drivetrain in to it, the upper pan hard bar was off it when I got it. I just use the car at the track really, and it does fine with out it. I’ll probably do the aftermarket upper bar on it this winter just to be safe.

Thank you for the reply. I have an early set of their 1 3/4 headers where the driver side collector was aimed at the floor board. I was very unhappy with that but they failed to do anything about it and said, well we have an updated version now.

Regardless of that, for the price and fitment you can't beat them.

Your setup looks good Sir.

I didn’t see it on his car in the picture. Had me curious.

Lowered on a Eibach Pro kit, and have an iron 408 in the car so the front dips down a little bit. Gonna attempt one last time to tuck it all up and then after that the exhaust is for sale.

On the dual dumped exhaust, I wonder if angling the tips toward each other might provide a noise cancelling effect?

Not really, being out in the open. Inside a can, maybe.

If anything seems like that would make it louder in the cab, with both tips pointing at one another.... but like G Atsma said in a closed off environment it might help cancel some of the noise out.

I remember a loooooong time ago on LStech. There was a guy with a black Camaro, SS I think. Who had a Mufflex system on his car and either had a Flowmaster or a Spintech muff(chambered) and switched to a Dynomax or Magnaflow straight 4 inch muff and picked up a stupid amount of power.

Yeah I know there is a lot of ambiguity in that statement but that's the best I can remember from drinking for the past 15 years.

I would go back and search for it but I'm afraid I might get my dick smacked if I post in a thread that old.
