102mm TB help choosing So I just ordered a fast 102 manifold to replace my current ls6 . I'll be using this on undecided motor either building a 383 out of my current hc ls1 or getting an iron 408 , what's the best tb to get I see alot of people saying the nick William's, ptm, fast, holley what's the best for ease of tuning fitment etc is it worth paying almost double for the NW or ptm ?
Not to hijack your thread, but I'm looking for a NW 102 also, but can't find any info on them other than from vendors. There's no Nick Williams site to go to. There's some that pop up used from time to time, but how can you tell it's a real Nick Williams and not some knock off?

What ECU / PCM will you be using? I tried a NW102 with my 02 C5 (P01 PCM) and it wouldn't open past 15 or 20% without the TAC thinking it was defective.
Talked with a guy with a C5 who went through the same thing, sent it back, got another one that did the same thing. I get the impression that the problem is that the TAC module needs to be tuned, and there are no tools to do that. Easily solved with PCMs that have TAC functionality built in, but it's a crapshoot with P01s and P59s.

I bought mine about 12 years ago. Back then, his TBs didn't have any identifying markings or branding that would make it easy to spot a fake. I don't know if anything has changed.
