Default Fast intake vs ls6

What's up y'all I'd like to get some feedback on whether it's worth spending money on a fast intake. I have a 02 camaro ss 35thle a4. I'm about to install a torquer v2 cam , prc 225 heads , yank ss3600 stall and full exhaust. My car already has the ls6 intake would it be worth getting a fast 92 intake?. How much more power will the car make with a fast?.

Long story short it should be worth up and tq across the rpm range especially on a setup like yours. It’s just a matter of power vs price aka what your budget is and if you want to do it.

Yes but I wouldn't buy one new, find one used or if you are going to buy new might as well get a 102.

I'd rather just cash out and get a new one. Would the 102 work with my setup. I was reading that a 102 wouldn't make that much more power than a 92 on a ls1

Any of the good ~90 to 92mm snout plastic intakes like TBSS, Dorman LS2, Fast 90/92 will out power a stock 78mm snout LS6 intake in the OP's application. As will a 90mm snout TPIS LS6. The mod'd 90mm snout LS6 doesn't appear on TPIS or LPE website anymore so it may not be available.

Based on my flow testing in the thread mentioned above, the 90/92 cat will move ~15 cfm more of air a peak lifts. That's potentially 10 to 30 hp generally speaking depending on cam, rpm and other factors in most applications.

Best bet for long term is to sell the LS6 and upgrade to a 90/92 Fast as it would have more potential after porting in other bigger engines etc.

Just my humble.02

With the cam and heads you have selected you would benefit from going to a 102 setup. Your combo is going to want to breathe at 6500 and probably shift towards 7000 so the additional plenum volume and runner design of the 102 will benefit you more so then an average LS1.

If going all out with a 102 definitely get someone who's an excellent porter to port it.

I know its asking a lot, but maybe its not during this time of our lives where people are bored, Anyone want to take a stab and what a "total" cost should be and which is the best investment? I say total cost because with some intakes you need fuel rails, bigger/different throttle body, all the unforseen stuff that you would need. With a fast 102 its not just buying a fast 102 and bolting it on if you know what I mean.

For the Fast 102 you'd need the larger throttle body, fuel rails, and intake. New that would run around $1400-1500

Well if you are serious:

Fast 102 = 849
ls2 rails = 140
Injector spacers or pigtails = 20
throttle cable bracket = 40
NW throttle body = 369
TSP Maf = 269
coupler = 20
Lid = 209

some of these are not necessary but recommended for max power

Plus you need a retune on that fast 102 which may run $125

I've got a stock '04 LS6 longblock swap in my '98 Z28 with all the bolt-ons. I originally installed an SLP LS6 intake (stock LS6 intake modified with EGR) and put down 385 RWHP. I swapped over to a Fast 92 w/Nick Williams 92mm TB and put down 400 RWHP, so a 15 RWHP gain going with the FAST 92...

Thats a nice little gain without even a bigger than stock ls6 cam and ported heads.

Some would argue 15 RWHP for around $1100 isn’t worth it. I’m still on my Hooker shorty headers WITH stock cats too...I had a bad experience with a set of LT headers on my original LS1. It was worth it to me because my goal was to get over 400 RWHP with a stock internal LS6. I actually dynoed at 400.1 RWHP, so I was happy I hit my goal!

certain racing leagues would sell their grandparents for 15 horsepower. When NA, every bit counts.

I went 102 on my lil 346.
But my engine will run past 7k
I may give up a little down low, but it's got a 4400 rpm converter and revs. Plus I can grow under the intake.

I got a hookup on my intake.
The dude is still on here I'm sure he's got more.

Fast 102. 675 shipped
Nw 102. 370 shipped
Ebay oem ls2 rail. 99 shipped
Green giants EV1 style. 125 shipped

Map relocation harness and other miscellaneous. 75-100

I did not get mine ported yet.
