Default Oil pump question...

I have a 09 Silverado with the 5.3 that has a collapsed lifter and low oil pressure. Does the oil pan need to be removed in order to replace the oil pump?

At minimum, you have to lower the pan, It would be way easier if you could drop the pan.

I didn't drop mine when I did the DOD delete and swapped out chain tensioners. It's nerve racking and tight access but 100% can be done without lowering the pan.

I'm assuming that a new pump comes with more than 1 o ring. Which is the correct o ring for the 5.3?

Depends on the pickup tube end. If there is a groove around it close to the end, it's the fatter one. If just straight tube, the thinner one.
