LS Gen III - Newbie to LS
This is my first LS build and to be perfectly honest, I love these motors now that I've had a chance to tear into the LQ9 6.0. Building this for my 68 Camaro.
I've added a Texas Speed cam, springs and rebuilt the trunions. Also added a Holley Low-Ram intake so far.
My questions:
- Coil selection. I have the old coils from the Escalade it came from but not sure is they will have the output I need for the new build. What style and type do you guys recommend.
- What throttle cable setup should I use for the conversion being my old linkage is rod design?
- How about my stock injectors... Will they handle the demands of 500 HP?
it for now.
Thanks guys!

2. I can't really tell you because I'm using stock cable set up on my GTO and my Corvette was DBW.
3. If you're going to 500 rwhp make sure to upgrade the fuel pump to a walboro 255 at a minimum and 42lbs injectors again at minimum. I was pushing 538rwhp with this set up and a 150 wet nitrous shot. Never had issues with fuel delivery or injectors not being able to handle the fuel needs.
Stock coils have been very capable and nearly all of the aftermarket coils failed to deliver equal performance.
IGN-1A coils can provide a small gain on a NA engine. I seem to recall reading ~8 to 10hp on a 500hp engine and more in boosted applications. There are also some tuning changes needed to take full advantage of the better coils from what I've read. A member "PanteraEFI" who was a sponsor made several posts about them.

Injector Data Sticky (12613412 Injectors)
