Default TBSS force fit into a 4th gen?

Considering manifolds have gone through the roof in pricing, has anyone sucessfully fit a TBSS intake manifold in a 4th Gen F body? Don't mind cutting as my car is no original garage queen (98 Z roller). Tentatively, looking at a 4.8 build with 862 heads and a single ebay turbo kit. Possibly a Huron hotside kit to retain AC (Arizona) but a true budget truck manifold to y-pipe to bumper exit may be the solution.

Would prefer not to cut, but there arent many budget options out there for cath port intakes. PCE Speedmaster intake is an option, but theres not much out there on performance for it.

So, anyone got out their cutting wheel and force fit a TBSS intake in their F body?

Why cut?

With Forced Induction even an LS1 intake should work pretty well.

A set of spacers to drop the K-member a little lower might help squeeze a TBSS with out cutting. Not sure just a thought.

BTW - An LS6 intake with a $350 LPE/TPIS 90mm snout mod will flow just as well as a TBSS. No need to cut up the car. Both are about equal to a Fast 90/92.

Its more about cost and availability than anything. Most of the pricing for LS1/LS6 OE intakes are in the 4-500 range. Some are loaded with injectors, rails and TB others arent.

In all honesty I have a ways to go before I even need an intake. Baby #2 is almost here so I wont be doing anything car related for a while. But, when my attention turns back to the car, cost will play a factor. Formula and diapers arent cheap lol!

I'm in the same road, thinking if a TBSS would fit a 4th gen fbody. I currently have a LS6 intake on a 5.3 with its stock 78mm TB.
Maybe those +7hp - average along all the curve- would mean +14hp at the same boost level of 14 psi.

Reading the entire thread, for 3rd gens it fits; but for 4th gens we would need 0.5 inch drop on the mounts to fit it (shaved truck), correct?

I feel very sure a TBSS will fit a 3rd Gen as I had an LSXRT on my 3rd Gen for a while.

I'd just get a Fast 92/102 and get it done by spending on the better fitting but more expensive parts. I'm not sure on jamming a shaved TBSS into a 4th Gen, might end up having to cut the cowl or use spacers on the k-member to drop the cradle a little lower etc.

I solved my question about weather the TBSS fits or not! I bought a complete car, lol. But if after shaving its a half inch needed to fit, a hammer may clear it. For a nice, unmolested car, a good intake that genuinely fits should be the priority. But a beater or pure race car, cut or beat that cowl for the TBSS!

FYI, I experienced the TBSS install. Definitely you cant shave a lot the intake and shave the engine mounts. Take a look at the reference pictures.
Also regarding the wipers, it is almost impossible to retain them. I began taking little by little with care and it is impossible to retain the wipers.

And the hood closes perfectly with the 92mm TB.

Descriptive video, it is in spanish but it might help you looking at the process
