Default Off road Y versus SLP Catted

Quick back story car is a 98 with about 110k miles I got my heads and cam buttoned up and tuned last June and the guy said the fuel pump may be maxed out...Stock pump. I agreed and he said when I replace the pump bring it back he'll dial it in and squeeze a little more out of the car. Well as the summer went on the car started to have pump issues as I tucked it away in November understanding I would get a pump this winter. I went ahead and ordered a drop in replacement from the WS6 store that has the Racetronix 255LHP pump. The car currently has an SLP Catted Y and a Holley 92 throttle body. I have a ported FAST 102 I acquired from someone local and I was thinking about buying an off road y. Will it be worth the money on the Y and will i see any impactful gains from changing this set up and getting it back on the dyno to spice up the numbers?

SLP has offered several Y pipes over the years one for manifolds and others for long tube headers. What is your current exhaust set up?

Manifolds or headers?

If manifolds & SLP stock replacement Y pipe with cats then all of that exhaust should be replaced.

Long tube headers & a Mufflex 4 inch Y pipe makes for an excellent set up.

Probably should have gotten a 340 lph fuel pump, just in case. Might want to pick up a All Star fuel panel cover from Summit and do the trap door.

doing the trap door (this is my third fbody lol) the pump I got is rated for 600 hp, even at the crank I'd be shocked if it were pushing over 500 tbh.

I would do the ORY if you don't have a sniff test, I am not a fan of cats. But you might regret this if the rest of your exhaust system is already very loud or rasp-prone. If you have a quiet-ish muffler, I would go the ORY route especially for a heads/cam car.

I can appreciate that. It has an SLP LM2 on it now (not my choice) and was going to move to something a little milder but I don't necessarily hate the LM2. will see how it is with the ORY and if its too much i'll bounce it. Car is mainly a summer cruiser and sees the strip 4-5 times a year.

edit: in my mind removing cats will net HP considering there is no more restirction, just not sure how much and if its worth the 200ish for an ORY

Keep the cats and the LM2 or just replace the LM2 if you want a different sound.

not so much sound as HP gains I'm looking for and weighing the option of spending 200 bucks to get maybe a few hp out of it
