Finally getting this thing back together and installing the tsp headers has me hung up at the moment. I can't seem to get the driver side in from the bottom. I removed the heatshield and the oil filter but it seems to me the motor mount needs removed to have enough clearance . Dug through several old threads and didn't see anyone mention having to remove the mounts but I don't see another way with this particular header.
I don’t have TSP headers, but when I did the driver side, I had to use my sawzall to cut a block of aluminum off the block that is utilized during the engine’s machining process and can be removed. I installed the header from the bottom and had it orientated so the collector outlet was pointing towards the floor. Once the header went straight up, I was able to rotate it and was good to go.
When I installed the TSP 1-7/8 headers on a Gen III 6.0 engine I ran into zero issues with the headers making contact with anything. Maybe it's more complicated installing them with the engine in the car because when I did mine the engine and transmission was already bolted to the k-member and then I rolled the driveline underneath the car and sat the car back down onto the k-member. Maybe you'll have to loosen the k-member to get some separation in order to get it bolted up.
Looooooooooong ago I spent many many many days cussing and gnashing my teeth over a TSP header install..........finally REMOVED THE MOTOR MOUNT AND PEDASTAL AND PUT THE HEADER IN 2 SECS
Damnnn. I installed ARH, Pacesetter and Dynatech headers on my 4th gens. Had to cut the engine tab with the Pacesetter but other than that, absolutely nothing else. I hear TSP can be hit or miss with 6th gen too. Mostly good, but it does happen 🤪
Figured i should update this the pedestal had to come out but I got them in with the clamshell still in. Getting the pedestal back in with the header in place took 2 people. One to lift and lower the engine on a jack while the other wiggles the pedestal back in. Managed to scratch up the nice ceramic coating on the headers in the process . Honestly I think these were a harder install than the intake manifold.
