Default Gutted Cats

I hung my gutted, ported cats on tonight. I like
the sound a lot better. I have the SLP factory
CME which is about the quietest "performance"
catback going. But with the cats cleared, the
idle note is a lot sweeter (sounds like there is
some potential) and I haven't noticed any "rasp".
Definitely moved it to a more hot-roddy sound.

I have not opened up the cutout yet, since
the swap.

I have home-ported (match to gasket) iron
manifolds, and I also ported the cats where the
internal tubing "collar" is, from manufacturing.
That edge looked like a dog-whistle to me and
I blended it smooth. Could not get to the other,
at the bottom end, but maybe that has helped
against the rasp people mention.

Anyway, not a bad job, on Rhino ramps. The
impact wrench was essential on the exhaust
studs and another foot of working clearance
would have been more pleasant. Anybody with
fat hands may have a hard time with the driver's
side rear O2.

I killed all of the cat and rear O2 tests in HPTuners.
I drove some city and highway relearning trims and
didn't hear any objectionable notes (other than, the
exhaust piping needs another shim-rehanging).

I'm about to port my manifolds restrictions which are easily visible and install a Bassani ORP while at it. Did you notice any performance increase or different HP tuner readings from your porting?
