Default March underdrive Crank w/ Alt Overdrive Pulley Combo ??

I am ready to get a underdrive pulley. I have an aftermarket stereo with two amps and my idle is set to 950 RPMs, and I use the A/C here in humid Florida. I suppose I need the Alt pulley even with my current idle RPMs, right? My main question though is will running the Alt overdrive pulley with an underdrive crank combo defeat the purpose, and not be as good as just a single underdrive crank pulley? I am trying to find out if a Alt overdrive/crank underdrive setup is even worth while for the money.

It might not make as much power as it would with just the crank pulley, but You will still make good power. March has a very nice kit, and the alt pulley is just big enough to help run your ac, sound system & so on. It's good bolt on power for the money!!
