Default Speed Inc ported TB: any experience with?

Anybody have the LS1 Speed ported TB? I am shopping for a ported TB right now and couldn't turn anything about it up on a search. Can't remember anyone ever having had one either. Any input appreciated.

That is my final decision.
Can't beat $130 for a quality ported/powder coated TB.

You may want to read the sponsor feedback..

If you have a spare TB or couple months to wait. Then go for it..

You have a point. All the posts I have seen have been one of two types. Either they were very happy with their throttle body as it was expertly finished, or they were very unhappy as whatever part they sent or paid for had not come back/been sent. And it's not a new thing either.....that is actually the original reason why I started shopping around for somebody other than him. Decided it should be okay, had seen a lot of good feedback.......but now that I look again there are still people with current problems so I guess I'll be shopping around some more and using someone that I know has good customer service on the whole. Looking at TSP or Speed inc right now.

Talk to FastMatt98.. He just picked up one of the TSP TB's and he's pretty happy with it..

His AIM is LS1Matt...

I've been looking into getting one also.. $160 and no core. You can get at least $75 for you stocker on eBay.

Good investment actually.

The problem with being a small shop and doing all the work myself is that large increases in demand can slow me down at times. I'm training a new employee now to help take the load off me and to speed up delivery times.

I will have a new policy in effect starting Sept. 1. All TB orders received will be shipped within 5 business days or each additional day it's $10 off the price of the TB. It's an incentive on my end to get them pushed through (quality is still #1) and improve customer service. In the event demand exceeds my capabilities, I will make customers aware of it and give an expected shipping date. IF the order is placed, each day after the expected shipping date will be $10 off.

Also regarding core exchanges....

I will accept core returns no longer than 45 days after the TB was shipped to the customer. That gives the customer over a month to return their core. This is to ensure I can manage the number of cores I have to improve customer service as well. I have had some customers try to return cores 2-3 months after the purchase date. Not only is it impossible to keep track of the number of working cores I have, it makes it possible for a customer to pick up a used core somewhere and possibly return it at a profit. The idea of the core exchange is to speed up the process and limit downtime.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Scott

Jantzer did me up a quality piece, I get compliments on it everywhere I go. Everybody thinks it is an aftermarket TB.

I think the consensus opinion is somethign along the lines of: it does give a small-decent HP increase, and it almost always shows up on the dyno and/or at the track. For what little you pay, and since every little bit helps, it is a quality "bolt-on" mod.

How about a ported TB shootout!

Speed Inc vs Jantzer vs Shaner vs MTI (or dont they port anymore) vs Bauer (I noticed they aren't a sponser anymore)

Anyone else up for some hard numbers?

I wouldn't mind seeing this. I'm always up for seeing what parts can prove themselves.

Ordered the TSP ported core along with some nice MSD wires and new set of plugs.
Also ordered the "hump hose" while I was spending money on induction.

Speed Inc. is a very reputable company although I just ported my own throttle body I am sure that theres will measure up well to the competitions.

Since this has gone to the topic of Speed Inc in general:

I probably should have just trusted them on it being good. I have had nothing but good experience with them. I have their duals and I also purchased my converter, shift kit, cooler, temp gauge, trans pan, and SFC from them....all of which they also in stalled.
