Default How much difference is there between a H-pipe set up & an X-pipe set up?

When I say difference, Im referring to:

Sound
Horsepower
Torque
Flow

I have true duals with an H-pipe rather than a X because with my set up, the X just wouldnt fit. (or at least the shop that did mine set up said so) I was really set on an X just because it seemed like the flow would be better from the looks. Also, I figured that H's were more for Mustangs. Anyhow, I just wanted to know if Im hurting any with my set up. Id like to take it off and run an X set up if I can find a shop that can figure out how to do it. Dont get me wrong, it sounds good in my opinion, its just in the back of my head that an X would be better. Thanks a lot.

The difference should be minimal. I wouldn't worry about it. General idea is that the H sounds a little bit better, the X makes a little bit power, yes, but it's not a huge difference. IMO it won't be worth the effort, as I imagine that the angle/direction/etc of the rest of the exhaust will be quite different and require a lot to do the swap.

An H-Pipe will usually make more HP and TQ than an X-Pipe in the middle RPM range, but as exhaust velocity increases, the 90-degree bends in the H-Pipe become less effective than the X-Pipe at scavenging the exhaust, and will thus usually produce less top-end HP and TQ than the X-Pipe. How much depends on how high you spin the engine. At 6200 RPM the difference between the H-Pipe and X-Pipe will not be as great as it would be at 6800 RPM. From what I've seen, the X-Pipe is usually good for 5-10 RWHP over the H-Pipe on the top-end.

In other words, you probably won't feel any difference between the two.

This is also the way I've always understood it.
