Default Q-tec or StreetPro?

I have been looking to get a cutout, can anyone give an opinion on what one would be better?

I have Streetpros, and absolutely love it. It opens and closes in like 2-3 seconds, no leaks, is ceramic coated, and on and on. I have no experience and don't know anyone with the QTEC, so I can't comment on that. But Streetpros is definately worth the money IMO.

I'll give the other side. I haven't seen a streetpro, but have used a QTEC for a couple years and it has worked great. Currently I have the 3.5" model.

I have a 3.5" QTEC as well and have no complaints. I do however like the design of the Streetpro being built into the cutout itself and also like that you can put a turndown on it.

I did a search and decided the Street Pro were the best. I've had mine for around 3 months, very nice piece!

I have a Street Pro and I'm happy with it. I've had it for almost a year now and have had no problems thus far.

I dont have either, but I have to believe that Street Pro is better than QTP simply by looking at its design. But thats just my opinion. I plan on getting duals QTP's in the future.

Well, I don't have an ls1, nor do I have cutouts, but I plan on that being my first mod. I will go with the streetpros because of the build quality and open/close speed. That is pretty important to me, because I want to be able to pop em open/closed as fast as possible... And I love the idea of the electric cutout...it is really James Bond-like and cool...I also am going with the streetpros because of ground clearance issues (I will be lowered). On this note, does ANYONE have info/pics/advice on the dropped car/cutout combo???? I have heard the qtecs are bad for ground clearance, even at stock height! Is anybody out there with a dropped car and streetspros??? Please help me out! And I will have the stock manifolds, so how do you think it will sound? Should I get headers first?.. Sorry for hijackin the thread..just wanna keep the cutout vibe flowing...just like the exhaust....

I had mine on stock manifolds, in fact, it was my first mod. It sounded great. It just was not nearly as loud as it is now with longtubes and an ORYP. As far as clearance is concerned, I have a 3 inch pipe and there is PLENTY of room. I'm not lowered but I don't see you having many if any problems with ground clearance. The cutout had a turndown welded on at first but a buddy and I removed it. That helped with the clearance even more.....oh, by the way, I prefer the sound of cutouts over any other catback out there.

wow, they are a little pricey, but they seem like they would have more ground clearance as opposed to the QTEC. I think I'll wait and see how they do..

What color apples you like? Red or Green ones?

QTP is a great company with outstanding customer service. StreetPro is new on the block, but already has a good reputation.

IMO, it comes down to $$$

you need the 3" for stock T/A exhaust, right? What is the advantage of the dual cutouts?

You'll need the 3 in. cutout for the I-pipe. I would suggest buying bolt on turndowns for Qtec cutouts. I had a turndown welded on my Qtec and the stupid thing fell off.

If you factor in a Jet hot coated Flowtech (streetpro's is coated), the price is exactly the same. If I were buying again today, I like the design of the StreetPro IMO...
