With anything other than a WS-6, it looks like it would suffer for air. With it being all sealed off like that it just dosen't seem like it would be able to breath. With the lower air box being sealed back off, you loose alot of the air you used to have avalible to you. I'd like to see a dyno with the hood closed against a lid. I think "hood open" would be a no brainer. Oh yea, That's a big bitch.

That is a good point. but if you consider that the lid on a closed non-RamAir hood will be getting the air mostly from the front of the car, I don't see why the Volant would cause any harm.

In a sense it could be actually good because when moving at say 70mph there would be a mild compression of the air around the cone filters, and that's good.

Unless you're picking up air from the bottom of the non-RamAir car, I don't see why the Volant would be worst than a lid. In fact, I think it would be better....

Like I said before, I guess the Volant will shine more and more with other mods piled up...

I got the same exact one for my 2002 Z28 with the ASCD SS hood. It fits and seals fine.

That's a valid point also. I didn't think much about a stock lid vs. this. I was refering more to a car with a aftermarket lid and the lower air box cutout like 99% of people run.
