Throttle body size vs. power

Throttle body size vs. power
So, from what I've read I have 75mm of throttle body on my vette. Now if I port it what would that bring me up to? Possibly 78mm? Are 80mm BBK's already to their max or can I get one of those ported too? Basically what I'm asking is will I get more power out of a ported 80mm BBK or a ported stock TB? What kind of difference am I looking at here and is it worth the cash.

You will see the same gains with a stock ported TB as you will with a BBK, as long as it is done properly. A lot of our sponsors port stock throttle bodies and do really nice work for a very affordable price. IMO, a BBK is not worth it when you can spend 130 bucks and get a stock ported one that is powdercoated whatever color you want.

The hole in the intake is the same as the stock TB
and not much room to grow. You have to use an
adaptor cone with the BBK anyway or have some
dog-whistle action. If you want to go big then you
need one of the aftermarket 78mm or 90mm intakes
($$$+$$$ for intake and TB). But I think you'd be
wanting to have heads, headers & semi-big cam
before messing with that. Or a good thing to do
whilst putting said heads back on.
