Using a Battery Tender Plus while storing your car.
I know there's alot of guys/gals getting ready to store there car for the winter and I thought I'd pass this along. Some guys like to take the battery out during storage but I have found these computer cars sometimes just don't like that, I've been using the Battery Tender Plus for several years now and it's a must have item in my opinion. A Battery Tender isn't a trickle charger so you won't have to worry about the battery boiling over, I wouldn't recomend this if I didn't use it myself ( I have four ) and think it was worth having. www.mawonline.com is having a sale today only ( 10/28/04 ) that if you're interested might be just the ticket for you. I called yesterday and asked what the total price would be and was told $38.90 shipped in the lower 48 states. Here's the info: BTW, I don't work ( hell I don't work at all ) for wwwmawonline but this is where I've found the best price.

Would one be able to get away with the smaller 'Junior Tender' on the small lightweight Hawker type batteries some use or is the larger 'full size' battery type still recommended?
And does the free shipping deal also apply to the smaller cheaper one?
cost than that, though I don't know yet just how
well they "tend" it (I put one on the electric-start
generator battery). The one I picked had a 1.5A
charge rate and claimed to go into a float mode
when charged. I'll have to check how warm it is
keeping the battery. I have boiled a few, using a
10A/2A "smart" charger that obviously isn't as
clever as represented.
