TD's setup on stock manifold and cats?

I've got cats on my true dual setup and it sounds a lot quieter than other off road true dual systems with no cats. But I've got LT's though.
I wouldn't waste money on a dual setup w/ stock manifolds. A catback will do fine. True duals serve cars that are modded way better than close to stock cars...and with your mods I'd stick with a catback. TD's will be overkill.

You'd see more gains with long tubes (you can get painted ones so cheap now) or even Macs through a catted Y pipe and out to a decent cat back (or even better, through a cut out) than through TDs hooked up to restrictive stock manifolds and cats. Though sticking with the stock manifolds and cats even with TDs might actually be closer to 'truly street legal' than the other way.

ive got stock manifolds, no cats and straight pipes with chambered mufflers dumped before the axle...i have no h pipe yet so it sounds like 2 seperate 4 bangers running..... its weird....im thinking i need to connect the 2 to equal the flow.... what do u think??

Well, I think I read on ls1sounds that x pipe's sound better, but h-pipes produce more power.
Boondiggys: that car must sound like crap. Does it? Heard a LT1 w/ that similar setup and it sounded loud but horrible.

Wait to do TDs till you get LTs. They make full systems ready to bolt in. I would think this would be cheeper. Until then, just drop the cat-back and put a turn down on the end of the Y. It really is not that load (quieter than loadmaouth), and you drop about 50lbs. I will be doing this over winter. I run my cut-out open all the time so don't need the CB anymore. But once the budget calls for headers, the TDs are going in.

MY neighboor has true duals with stock manifolds and i would imagine stock cats ..because it is super quite for a true duals car...it's not much louder if at all than a v6 with a flowmaster muffler on it...go lt's and orx
