Default Calling All True Dual Owners !!

I really want to go with true dual, but I spoke with my friend at his muffler shop and he thinks that the pipes will run too close to the fuel and brake lines. Can someone tell me if they have had any problems with their set up. ANd so advantages and disadvantages with the set up.

Just turn the brackets that hold the brake and fuel lines upside down. It moves the lines up by about 2"... all the clearance you need.

Also, if you want to know the advantages of true duals... Do a search in this section for "true duals" and get a comfy chair. You'll find more info than you know what to do with.

Yup, and don't do what I did. My mufflers run underneath the seats...I've got two inches of clearance at the most! Get them tucked in the driveshaft tunnel.

After that, you'll love them. You'll break more necks from people staring at your car as you drive by. It's fun.

there are some clearance pictures for you...that is 3" duals over the axle...it does have some heat wrap on the driver side pipe...if i were you i would either go 2.5" over both sides or 2.5" over the passenger side only...with the second being better since you do not have to worry about melting anything on the driver's side...imo 3" is too big to go over the axles...it's been done a few times but you may find it to be more of a hassle than the power differnce between 2.5" and 3" the weather will make more difference than that...without a large cam and heads or forced induction there is really no need to go 3"

True duals are over-rated. I never thought I'd be saying this, but I'm really starting to believe it. They do sound very nice (I've had TD's on my car), but a good lt/Y-pipe/Catback combo will flow very well and sound very nice.

If you're worried about a muffler being too close to the fuel lines, just wrap the lines in heat tape, or put some heat shielding material over the muffler. The driver side muffler on my old setup was a little close to the fuel lines/filter, but it never gave me any problems. I did wrap the lines though for good measure.

I have 3" true duals with side exits and my ground clearance sucks. Looks and sounds great though. I deal with it because it is rarely driven.
