Default Intake/Throttle Body Upgrade on FI Stroker Motor

Is there any noticeable benefit to upgrading either or both of these when running a D1SC on a 382 at 12-15 psi? Any real numbers as an example? Motor already has an LS6 intake and TEA FI heads, MACs w/ORY, Corsa, and will likely go with dual electric cutouts and Accel DFI.

Thanks,
Tom

The fast 90mm intake and throttle body would work good and i noticed the cam your going to use with your new set up you might wanna go bigger if you want more power with that 382 just though i would mention that.

I picked that cam because of the broad power band (1300-6300). It will be combined with 1.8 rockers so effective duration and lift will be about 218/222 555/563 on a 114 lsa bumping the powerband to about 1500-6500. I realize it is not a killer cam, but since this car will live 95% on the street and only 5% at a track, I want a strong mid-range cam. It is not going to be strictly a drag car....I want to also auto-x and maybe roadrace a little. I want to make gobs of torque down low; the supercharger will make all the upper end power I will need. I expect this setup to make 650-700 rwhp (with most of that being made from 3000-6500) and run mid 10s at 135+, if I can get it to hook up.

When you say the FAST setup should work good, what do you mean, can you be a little more specific? That setup is very expensive and if it's not going to make at least 10% more power than the LS6 and stock tb, it is not worth it to me....I can just run more boost with a smaller compressor pulley for very cheap.

Thanks,
Tom

tom, you can upgrade the boost all you want, but if the ls6/stock tb isn't gonna flow as much as the FAST(and they won't, no matter how much you port it) then you won't be making as much power.....the FAST setup WILL make more power. some people have gained 20-27rwhp from going ls6 -> FAST.

Thanks, cyphur_traq. Those are some expensive ponies! I figure at 650-700 rwhp, the LS6 and stock tb have not reached their maximum flow capabilities, even naturally aspirated there would still be some headroom; not to mention FI increases that headroom. If the FAST setup will only net a 25 hp increase, that would be less than a 5% increase. $1100/25hp = $44/hp. If I go with a smaller compressor pulley, I think I can still gain the same 5% for around $50. $50/25hp = $2/hp. Now, anything above that and I will need to make some other adjustments which might include the FAST setup and a larger compressor like the F1 and bigger cam. However, considering I don't even have the motor installed yet (soon, verrry soon), I think it will be a while before I feel the need to exceed the 650-700 rwhp I have estimated. Hopefully by then these parts will be cheaper or even better ones available.

Thanks,
Tom

Anybody out there definitely maxxed out your LS6/stock tb naturally aspirated? Forced Induction? How much power were you making?

Thanks,
Tom
