Default Going back to duals. Have a few questions

Well like i said im going back to my lanes true duals mainly for the weight reduction. They were exactly 30 lbs lighter than my borla exhaust. The only reason i took them off was because of the damn drone. It drove me nuts. They have dynomax bullets and i will be cutting them off as soon as i make up my mind on what muffler to replace them with. Here is my questions, If you had it to do over, what muffler would you have chosen?I have narrowed it to down to the magnaflow ovals, or the borla xr1's. I cant make my mind up and ive listened to both of them. Second, what torque arm will work best with those duals?Any help will be greatly appreciated! thanks

might want to check out the spiral flow twisties or whatever they're called, i've heard they tame things down quite a bit.

I'm sure you considered this already but part of the nice weight savings was due to the lighter bullets, swapping them out for mufflers (even the light Borlas) will add back in at least some of that 30 pounds, will still be lighter overall though I'm sure.
Some TDs do sound really sweet too.

I wish I would have gone with the Borla XR-1 mufflers and I wish I would have gone all the way out the back. Oh well, there isn't anyone in the Columbia, SC area that can handle custom exhaust work anyway.

I currently have Lane's 2.5" setup dumping at the axle with 14" Magnaflow Magnapacks and it is very loud and unrefined...I'm getting pretty sick of it. Not to mention the vibration from this thing....it is really horrible.

The only muffler I've ever seen/heard cut down drone with duals is the Twister. Every other straight through style, like the Magnaflow and Borla is going to drone to some extent.

The spiral flowing Twisters take away so much if not all resonation... And flow just as well. I dyno'd ALL of 'em on my car.

Yes - the white Formula has them on our True Duals page. I also posted the same clip on the 'TSP now has spiral flow mufflers' thread... For those wondering what they sound like of course.

Thanks

TSP or Lane's should both have them. Sweet Thunders aren't supposed to drone much at all either. Something to consider.

I had true dual Twisters on a 2000 SS and it really wasn't an aggresive enough sound. They don't drone inside the car but they do have a droney sound to them. They also weren't all that loud. My Flowmasters sounded better.

I have Edlebrocks and they don't drone at all. I can hold a conversation no problem and never get a headache. Links are on LS1 sounds and on my cardomain site

I read alot of threads about the drone. I know many are not familiar with Remus Exhaust made in Austria but I have used them for years on several different cars. They are high quality and the sound testing they do is second to none.

Remus USA is located in Chatsworth, CA and is the exclusive distributor of Remus Sport Exhaust products in the U.S.A. This US distributorship is owned by B&M Racing.
