Default Modding question

I am planning on doing a few modifications to my car in the near future because I'm sick of getting smoked by my friend in his z28 when we have basically the same mods. I don't know why but his car is just plain faster than mine. We've even switched cars and it had the same outcome. But anyway, back to my question. I'm on a budget so I would prefer fairly cheap but quality parts. I'm not going to have the money to do everything I want to do at once so I was wondering what would be a good order to purchase these parts in or if these would even be the most beneficial parts for me. I am planning on buying a set of long tube headers, intake manifold, fuel pump, fuel injectors, throttle body, crank pulley, and a cam. I am fairly new to performance mods and will need help choosing what size and brand of all of these items also. My current mods are in my sig. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Long tubes/LS6 intake then a cam. Pulley will get you a few hp. Do a 85mm TB if you go with a decent sized cam. Dont bother with new fuel pump/injectors unless you think yours are malfunctioning.

What's the deal with trapping 107 on a 100 shot?

I have no idea what was up with the horrible et and trap speed. It kinda seemed like the clutch might have been slipping through 1st and 2nd but im not really for sure. It sure did disappoint me though. What would be a good cam for me? It will be for a daily driver but i would like to see some good power gains out of it.

I'd figure out whether my clutch is slipping first, and get a bottle heater.

Yeesh. 107 on spray? I did that N/A with less mods and an A4 car. I'd definitely check that clutch. What kinda 60" did you see on that run?

Long tubes, 4.10 gears, DR's, and a tune should help you out. I just put LT's, True Duals, and 3.73's in my car, and it made a helluva difference in how the car pulls... and it sounds so damn good.

My 60 ft. on that run was a 2.2. I only ran the car twice on spray but both times the rpms went up to about 5000 and stayed there for a second then went up normally. This was the only time the clutch has ever felt weak so it might have just been the spray. During normal driving it all feels fine. What is a good way to check to see if it is about to go?

i ran a 13.2 @ 107.55 in my brother's ws6 with only a magnaflow catback, slp lid, and k&n filter. In my car with the mods in my sig, my trap speed dropped 3 mph down to 114.82 and a few different people on the board have told me it's most likely my clutch. I guess you can't go wrong by upgrading to a spec stage III

Yeah i'd say your right. I guess thats probably what i'm going to make my top priority before i go with anything else. Does anyone have any idea on about how much it costs to get a clutch installed or is it something that someone with a little bit of automotive knowledge could do. I was wondering if it would be worth even trying to do myself.
