OK look here
OK look here I got my MSD wires today and opened the box and each wire looks different. One is longer than another, another is bent in another direction. Any way for me to tell which one is for what cylinder without using the "try and find out" method?

Forget the different angle part (was drunk when looking at them) here are the measurements of the wires (red part only). 70mm, 84mm, 80mm, 82mm, 82mm, 83mm, 89mm, 80mm. Do these look right?

The red part that im talking about is the wire inbetween the two boots. I still didnt take the old ones off yet to compare. I agree with the 3/4'' being a bit much. I will call MSD on monday and see if there are supposed to be different lenths and if not i call the shop i bought them from.

Mine have been a couple'a years now, but all I did was rip off the old ones and install the new ones. They all looked the same to me. If there was some slight difference in length it didn't matter. Maybe you better take 'em back, or call MSD and get a part number and see what's what. I'd hate to think someone is scamming you with a cheap fab job.

Here's a question for you guys...did you wire come in a plastic wrapping. Mine just came loose in the box. I have always herd that MSD is top notch...figures that when they screw up, im the one to get it.
i bought mine in person.. clear on the box it was listed for ls1 blah blah.. they are kinda poorly made if u ask me.. all kinda had a different twist to them if u get what im saying.. mine were the same length, but some didn't slide on as well as others or turn right to list the msd logo ect. with mine, after swapping em around for an hour, i seemed to have got 5 left sides and 3 right.. so i have one in the back where teh logo is turned the wrong way. personally if i could find the 3 missing stock ones i lost, those woudl be back on anyways, i like the look of the red, but the msd's seem to have problems staying on.

I think mine were loose in the box, but it's been a couple'a years. I've done 6 or 8 plug changes and the wires always seem to "snap" on, no problems at all. If anything the coil side takes a little effort to pop in.
Well just talked to msd and they said that they may 2 sets...one that is 12" and another which is 8". Also they should all be the same size. Now i have to see and call the shop i bought them from.
I would say to stick with the 8" wires since you are running headers. IMO, the added length would create more of a chance of the wire coming in contact with one of the header primaries. By staying with the stock length, the wires take a nice, direct path from the coil to the plug...
