Default Does a 6.0 liter block take a different oil filter than a 5.7 liter block???

I have a small oil leak on my 408 and it seems to be coming from around the oil filter. The only place I really see oil is on the bottom of the filter itself and then on my X pipe from where its coming off. It has done it ever since the motor has been built and the only thing I can think of is the filter might be slightly different. Of course everytime I have changed the oil I have used a 5.7 liter filter, for an 02 LS1. So is it different or is there another issue??

So if they are indeed the same and I do have the proper filter on there what could be causing the leak?? Like I said I have oil on the bottom of the filter itself and it looks to be dripping from around the filter, like its not sealing good or something. I know it isnt that particular filter though because it has done it on all of the other filters as well.

no, hp2006 has a smaller bolt that screws into the block than the hp-2005. a common problem with changing your oil is this: when you pulled the old filter off, did you make sure to pull the old gasket from the block before installing the new one? sometimes the gasket gets stuck to the block, and when you put the new one on your using 2 gaskets, which makes for a horrible seal, and under high PSI oil will blow out everywhere.

I also recommend checking this, I found out the hard way.
