Default Can i pass emissions if i remove my EGR system?

I am wanting to upgrade to an LS6 intake and hate the way the EGR looks under the hood. but in NC we have to pass the sniffer test, so i was wondering if i have to get a LS6 that is EGR ready or can i pass if i delete it? thanks

looking at the rest of your mods i doubt the !egr will be the breaking point of making you fail (if indeed you did). your cam has more overap then the stock one anyway.

nah, cabarrus passed it a few years back
i moved from rowan county, where we had no emissions which was awesome. so now i have to deal with all this crap. with the cam, headers and other mods i have, even with no tune i passed the sniffer no problem. but i am not sure how the EGR will factor into this. i would probably have to get the codes deleted before it would pass. they wont allow a SES light to be on

Listening to your idle in the sound clip...your cam is going to give you more problems than the egr valve.... you are going to need one hell of a tun to have a prayer.

And the duration, and your lack of cats.

how do you pass the emissions testing w/o cats and a cam? thats pretty unusual. what #'s do you make, i am thinking about switching out to a 224 cam if i dont go FI in the future. thanks for the info

is that just a computer check though? we have to pass an actual emissions test here, where they check the tailpipe emissions. so having no cats is definately not possible. they are pretty easy going on the visual, as long as you have something under there for cats. but the smog test will get me if i didnt have some sort of cats. i am still unsure if i could delete the EGR, and the trouble codes that would throw and pass the smog. or is it even worth messing with? should i just get a EGR equipped LS6?
