Yes. Just little touch the resistors. It won't take any pressure to remove the residue, so do NOT press.

Are you cleaning wires because of oiling air filter? I got an SES code and I had a can
of Electromotive CRC electrical cleaner and flushed wires and that took care of it.

Thanks for the replies. I'm cleaning it because I'm switching from a K&N back to an AC filter.

Yea just get some electical contact cleaner in a spray can and you won't have to touch the wire's with a Q-tip, it clean's and dries real fast.

i picked up some at radio shack. sparyed on, shook the maf a few times and let it sit to dry. lots of dark grease came of my 01's. cost me $5.95 i think for the can, have plenty left, little bit goes a long way.

I take normal rubbing alcohol that i have in a spray bottle and just spray the stream over the wires. Works good for me.

Autozone sells electric parts cleaner, works really well and if you put a sheet of white paper under it you'll see all the dirt that comes off. I'd recommend that over using a qtip and making contact.

I used carb cleaner when I did the TB, and others. I also used a qtip and be very careful those things are tiny as hell.

I used the electrical parts cleaner from CRC. I was pretty suprised how dirty the thing was. I didn't use any qtips or anything. I just sprayed it and it sheeted the grime off and dried in seconds.

So if anyone else has this question, this stuff works.
