Default QTP Headers,ORY,GMMG With Borla XR1 sounds GREAT

Well I had the XR1 muffler installed just before the GMMG cat-back. It sounds awesome nice and deep with NO rasp. The quality of the XR1 is top notch and fit like a glove with minor work. The car sounded great with cats then when I removed them the car sounded like pure ****. I could not believe how this XR1 was going to make a difference but it made a complete 360 turn for the best. My buddies tell me that this is the best my car has ever sounded with all the times I have changed my exhaust. It actually sounds crisp and mean with no cats thanks to the Borla and no rasp. I had to massage the bottom of the floor under the passenger seat to get the clearance because the muffler was a little close and did not want any rattles. My QTP headers along with their ORY fit great and give me the best road clearance now that the cats are gone. I have a video if somone can host it. Well here are a few pictures of the finished install. Hope this helps anyone wanting to do this setup.

Hey "SouthFL.02.SS" thanks for keeping your fingers crossed for me it worked now go get yours put on.

Odd that you didn't like the GMMG w/ORY. Most ppl like that sound. Glad you like your new setup tho, it definitely looks clean!

This might just be my next mod, I love the sound of my QTP's and gmmg with the cats but I hate the lack of ground clearance. You'll have to get a clip posted so we can hear it. Looks great.

Thanks for all the compliments guys. I wanted a nice clean job and my buddy Rick Crain that owns a local shop does some nice work. The price of the muffler I got from a local parts shop was $107.00 even. The sound is just amazing and I am verry happy so it's going to stay the way it is this time. How can or where could I post a sound clip?

SouthFL.02.SS that looks really nice great job man. I want that rear under your car that will be a future mod for me to do.

It might not be so bad for you being that you have a 6 speed. With a automatic with a stall at 2200 rpm it sound like a raspy machine gun.

Sorry I missed your phone call the other night. I am glad that this went well since I am going to call on all your help to do my headers (pacesetter ory). I have a feeling this will go well for me too. Just hope they get here soon. Think your friend Rick will help me too when we do this? Cant wait to hear your car. Talk to you soon!

This doesn't look much different than a bullet muffler? How does it compare?

No problem buddy we can install the headers then have Rick weld in the Borla in place of the loudmouth muffler.

I am not sure the difference between the bullett muffler and the Borla XR1 other than the Borla is all stainless in and out. I did alot of research on choosing a muffler that would help cure the rasp problem and the XR1 did the trick. I also feel as though by looking at the XR1 has to out flow any high flow cat.

That is really nice. I wonder how the XR-1 would sound with the cats in place and the GMMG. Probably no drone at all, huh?
