Default Jet Hot Warranty Question

One of my friends has the Jet Hot LT's and says that they come with a 3 year guarantee on them? I forgot what it was for. I remember reading about it before but haven't been able to find any information lately. Does anyone know what kind of warranty/guarantee comes on these?
I'm trying to decide between getting coated Jet Hots or QTP's. With the sale going on right now it'll cost me $220 more for the QTP's, I'm debating if it's worth it just for stainless. Is the fitment/ease of installation better with either brand?

The Jet-Hot gaurantee is that they will not rust (but they will), and if/when they do, you ship them back to Jet-Hot and they will re-coat them for free. You have to pay shipping both ways though. After that free re-coat, I believe you pay for any after that. The fitment on mine wasn't too great. A primary on the driver's side was hitting the K-member, and one on the passenger side was resting the heater box. A little bit of grinding on the K-member and a dent on the passenger side primary took care of it. If I were to do it again, I'd get the stainless. If you're on a budget though and looking for the best deal, go with the Jet-Hots.

go with the QTPs, if you buy the jet hots you'll end up buying a set of stainless down the road. (thats whats happening to me )

Definitely stainless. I don't think anyone makes a coating that really prevents rust. I just could not find a decent pair of shorties in stainless for a decent price when I bought mine. My shorties haven't even been on a year...heck maybe 6 months? They are already rusting all over, especially at the flanges for AIR.

I wonder if that por 15 stuff would hold up, it supposed to be badass, and the black wouldn't look too bad.

It would not hold up. I do think that the same company makes a special header paint though.

yeah here it is. Black velvet, withstands up to 1200*f temps, I think that would be enough...lol That should be some badass stuff, wonder if a pint would do a set of headers.

It should. A pint of regular POR-15 goes a long way. I painted most of a frame with half of a pint.

Then this looks like a great idea for people on a budget. I might get a pint and try it out on my hookers.

I've used their warrentee and it works mint, mine was lifetime when I bought the headers in 2004. I had them recoated before I sold them. I had to have ALL my paper work and prove I was the original purchaser. All of them were really nice and got it done quick. I had to pay for shipping both ways 35$ each but then resold them for some $$$
