Question A/C delet questions

Im takeing my motor out and while im at it all the a/c has to go. But i want to keep my heat. Im keeping the black box becaus i guess my heater pump or whatever is in that and two coolant lines run from the radiater to it for the heat, thats all i left on my car.
All the other stuff is history, the a/c pump that was attatched to its own pully, that big silver canister thing in the passanger side, and the a/c condensor. Will my heat work with any of that removed?

Will not effect your heating. Your ac compressor dries the air for your defrost, but I have not had any probs with mine since removing my ac compressor.

Yes the heat will work, I removed all that ac stuff and everything works fine. Did not throw any codes either when removing all of it.

No probs here also, and no codes. It reallys cleans it up under the hood and save some decent weight off the nose of the car.

Does anyone have a detailed write up on how to do and what needs to be done for the AC delete? Do any lines need to be plugged, and wires need to be capped, belts replaced, etc, etc, etc.

Thanks
Bryan

Nothing needed to be plugged. Just tear everything off basicially, lol. Leave the black box though if you want heat.

make sure you discharge the A/C lines before unbolting them! take a flathead screw driver, wrap your hand in a towel, and stab at the schrader valve near the radiator fill cap. once it stops discharging, THEN tear it all off

If you want to do a clean delete, I did some research and it looks like almost all of the AC system part numbers match the older LT1 cars. That means you should be able to use any AC delete parts they had. I don't know what parts you would need, but it would not be much, and may clean up any extra crap left behind. You will not need the AC delete pulley though.
