There are alot of people that swear by different TB's but I think a TB is kind of like a lid. Find the cheapest one you can . . . After having a ported stocker that gave me some sealing probs I went with an SLP. Im not really fond of SLP stuff; however, I had pretty good luck with it. I mean lets face it, theirs no core charge and its a 0 mileage unit. New electronics, spring, everything. If you have an early model you may or may not have to switch the blade and shaft out. In my case I did, but it was no big deal, 5 min and a drop of threadlocker. Good luck!

A also went with the slp for the same reason. No core charge and its a 0 mile tb and you can either keep your stock one or even sell it for a little cash.

Jantzer was just removed as a sponsor due to all the negative posts from his customers. He does good work but I'm at 5 weeks still waiting for mine from him.

I know a lot of the Mustang guys run Accufab Plenum's and TB's on the 4.6's.

what ever you do, do not buy a bbk tb. I had one on my car, the throttle shaft snapped and couldn't even get them to sell me replacement parts for the thing. Yes it was out of warranty, but I expected to atleast be able to buy the parts to fix it. I am no running a stock ported tb. My car makes the same power as before with the bbk, and it is actually much smoother in opening and closing than the bbk.

Question

Pardon my lack of knowlege.

But with all the disassembly and modification/porting work, doesn't a person have to reset the throttle position sensor or something like it when a throttle body is removed/reinstalled/replaced?

I thought I read something about using a volt meter and checking for a particular voltage at some blade position?

Or is this just a simple remove/reinstall as received?

Thanks!

You SHOULD just have to remove/reinstall. When I dealt with both of my stock ported TB's that I ran on my car, the idle was fine after I just installed it. A lot of the people you see having to check the blade position and voltage are reffering to the new 90mm TB's, which have given everyone lots of trouble.

I'm getting a Shaner as soon as he has results for his new Billit TB (I'll either get that or the S3).

Ron @ GMMG and Bo White both do great work. You might see Bo around here more often in the future, who knows. If you want to stick with a sponsor, Ron is the way to go!!
