Your X or Y is lower as a result of the low SLP collectors. I should know, I used to have them.

Edit: I've also had both X and Y's. Currently back to Y and lovin' it.

i've said it before, and i'll say it again, my whole tenure on any ls1 site i've yet to see one go from X brand of headers to SLP's but i've seen plenty of people go to X brand from SLP.

FWIW i got my whole exhaust; jet hots, custom catted Y, magnaflow, and o2 extensions for 900 bucks.
Yea, thats about what mine was. Everything, welded up with the true duals.. also had the sub frames put on at the same time was right around 700- 750.

The headers themselves hang lower than other companies headers but like I said, the headers RARELY scrape. My exhaust takes a pounding the headers are fine. So everyone who said they hit little bumps in the road and scrape their headers.....I dont know what to tell you

Yea, my headers have never scraped actually. At the back where my mufflers are scrape.. but thats because the mufflers have 4 inch centers rofl.

Now, you can certainly make this argument, but you also have to be willing to admit that not everyone that mods these cars also posts on this or other sites. Although I highly doubt anyone doing this unless they going from shorties or something to SLPs. Eh...we're getting into semantics at this point.

Yep, I've followed your story...I went the custom route with my X, and it came out really well. Tucks up better than my Kooks catted-y did, and not much added noise since it was done out the rear. I'm lovin mine as well

I have SLP's on at the moment. Only reason they're on there is because I didnt know about LS1tech when i bought them and they're still on there because I'm still saving for something else... they do scrape, in and out of the driveway... across some intersections.. over every speed bump. At first it took the joy out of driving the car... Now it adds excitement, i just wish i had a clear floor so i could see the sparks... SLP's should come with a lift kit.

+/- 2 or 3 Why? Because different dynos on different days net about that much difference.

There is plenty of low end response gained by switching from SLP's to QTP's (with the HVMC's), as I have experienced this for myself.

Infact here is the graph. Only 17 or so peak HP, but 27 rwtq. The curve is what was so nice....

Guess every car is different, but my car was a dog down low with the SLP LT's. Coulda been only one factor out of many, but it was what it was.

SLP LT's tend to throw off a stock tune more then any I've seen.. I think this is why their power isn't truly shown until you get a tune.... which usually comes along with a cam or full bolt ons.

333 wasn't bad... I was missing ls6 intake, I just had true duals lid and headers.

I have a feeling a lot of it has to do with how your car's PCM reacts to the headers...some seem to adjust better than others. Getting a tune would level the playing field, but I certainly wouldn't spend the money on a custom tune for only headers (and neither would most people).
