Default Cutout or long tube headers

Let me know what you all think. This is mostly a fair weather show car, doesnt go to the strip often and has the Mods in my sig plus a magnaflow exhaust. I am Looking at adding that extra bit of Umpf! when the ricers pull along side (kids drive me crazy.....lol...must be the mid 30's thing) but I digress, what would you guys do? And if I get the longtubes, any advantage/disadvatage of deleting the cats (No emissions police in Indiana) and whats with the corvette parts wih the headers? I have read through many threads and still cant make up my mind so please help me.

no doubt about it, long tube headers. go ORY, more power. however, you'll have more of a fuel smell to deal with. i kind of like it

Make sure you like the sound of ORY vs. Catted. If so, definetely go with the ORY. Get what you want right the first time. Don't settle. Good Luck man.

How much HP do you lose with a hi-flo catted y-pipe compared to a off road y-pipe? That is with LT headers also.

its only a couple horsepower. Your going to get alot of rasp without cats unless you do true duals. With cats its a more refined tone. Either way its sounds mean as hell. Good luck with your decision. Id would try to hear both in person before making a choice.......

That would depend on the catback. LM=raps, Hooker=no rasp and sounds great

You guys are all great thanks fo all the excellent info, what did I do without this site before. Now another maybe "dumb" question do I have to buy new cats or can I use my existing cats and just weld them into the new "Y"?
Thanks,
Kevin

Almost forgot, also is there any reason why I wouldnt just have my muffler guy make me a "Y" pipe, he does great work. Just wondering if it would make a diff at all, because it would save me some big $$
