Ls1 intake removal

Ls1 intake removal hey guys,
ok so ive been following the instructions on ls1howto and well i got all the bolts for the intake out except for the back 4.
now on the pass. side i used some tape to keep the back 2 from falling down.
the drivers side is a different story. its too tight in tehre to do anything!
how do you hold up the back 2 bolts on the drivers side?
whats the easiest way to taek the manifold out?

Mine wasn't a problem after removing the fuel rails. Didn't tape the bolts or anything. I used the same instructions you are using and I'm 220 lbs with thick arms and hands ... taking off the coil packs made it real easy, as well. Takes a few minutes to get them off, but, it makes it so much easier. NJot sure why you're having such problems ... hope you get it off without too much hassle.

DO NOT BREAK THE OIL SENSOR BEHIND THE MANIFOLD ON THE DRIVER SIDE WHEN YOU PULL OFF THE INTAKE. This happens often during a swap.
Be sure to torque the manifold bolts down to spec. with a torque wrench in the proper sequence.
I sprayed some seafoam top end engine cleaner in the intake ports of the heads and did some light cleaning before installing the new intake.
I painted my new manifold before I put it on and it turned out great looking.

Verdad Gallardo Second the motion on the OIL SENSOR UNIT. I had to do an emergency run to the auto parts store to get one and it screwed most of my Saturday ... only about $20, but, it stopped the whole operation ... broke mine trying to piut the intake back on. Good point from Shep28.
you should be able to tape up all 4 of those back bolts, i agree the passenger side ones dont have much room, but even if you tape them up a little bit, its still better than none, just dont tape them as high as possible, on any of the 4, or else you wont get the intake out, because this is the best peice of advice i got when taking my LS1 intake out, once all the bolts are undone and the rear ones taped up a bit, you lift the intake up from the back, and pull forward. Worked like a charm for me.
