the sensor is on the passenger side of the radiator. It is a little box. Just unplug it or get a new sensor. I would say that the majority here just unplug the damn thing.

I changed mine a few months ago. No biggie, but the replacement sensor is $$. GMpartsdirect has them cheaper, but they charge out the a$$ for shipping. Pass. side of the radiator. Drain the fluid to get below the sensor, unplug, remove, replace, refill, plug back in and your ready to go.

It's probably just dirty, they get crap on them and start acting up - pull it and clean it with rubbing alcohol and a rag and plug it back in. It will probably be fine and start working again (at least mine did).

If it's still setting the light after cleaning it I'd probably leave it unplugged too.

Cheers,
Bad30th

It most likely is the coolant sensor, but becareful because my low coolant sensor was on and since I had already had it fixed once by the dealership, I figured it was the sensor again. I ignored it and the next thing you know, my water pump broke and spilled fluid all over the parking lot at work. That same thing happened on my Bonneville, before I got my T/A, low coolant and then the water pump went.
