for a stock motor, 1 3/4. for strokers or power adders, look at 1 7/8.

With a cam, 1 3/4" will be plenty. Most people that buy Kooks get stainless, and there is absolutely no reason to get stainess headers coated.

I went with 1 7/8. I talked to several shops and they are noting the loss in tq in the lower rpm ranges, but bigger gains in the higher rpm ranges vs. the 1 3/4. I don't race in the lower rpms so I could care less about the losses down low.

I'll post figures once I get these on. Currently they are in my living room in a box

there are actually 2 reasons under hood temperature will benifit and there is also the bling factor. I think its lawman who had them coated. They look awsome. You can find pics if you search.

I got a mix of both...I got the stainless steel 1 7/8 stepped to 1 3/4. I couldn't decided and it was recommended to me and I've been real happy with them.
