Default Magnaflow

I'm currently running longtubes, ORPs and an SLP DD/CME muffler through CME tips. The SLP muffler supposedly flows real well, but is pretty quiet.

I just won a Magnaflow #12267 Performance muffler. Would it be worth it to install it?

How do you think it will affect my performance?

How do they sound???

the dual dual does flow really good. If you were to swap theres probley going to be no gain in hp. But it will sound louder and better imo. If you have not already gone to ls1sounds.com I suggest that you do so.

Yeah, I know the dual dual muffler flows real well. That's why I want to check first. I've heard flowmasters can drop about 10hp from an SLP muffler. If the Magnaflow is within 1-2hp than I'll swap it out as the SLP muffler is just too quiet.

Thanks.

The MagnaFlow is a straight through muff and should sound real nice.

But how will the performance compare to the SLP DD/CME muffler?

most all Magnaflow mufflers that I know of are all top notch performers in terms of both flow and sound. Its hard to guesstimate exactly how many HP you will gain or lose with it, since the number is generally pretty tiny (unless its over stock or blowmaster), and since people use such a wide array of exhaust setups. If you really wanna check it out do it, and dyno it. good luck either way, I think you will like the magnaflow alot.

Thanks, I feel comfortable that it will be a small number plus or minus. I probably can't do much better than what I've got, but I'd sure like to give it some more bark to it's bite. Especially once I get the new heads and the F14 cam. It's a shame to silence a nice rumpity sounding idle.
