Here are some examples I have collected so far. The pics show 2 different brackets. Both use the Sanden 508 compressor - a common compressor used by hotrod builders to put air in vintage cars.
The black bracket is made by:
Newman Car Creations
325 Santa Bella
Paso Robles, CA 93446 -3658 http://www.carcreationsinc.com/
$550 without compressor
$770 with compressor
The silver one is a DIY.
Others:
Street and Performance also makes one. It does not use the belt tensioner. Belt tension is maintained the old fashioned way - You have to adjust it and maintain it. This also uses the Sanden compressor. www.hotrodlane.cc
March also makes one that puts the compressor above the head, not beside it. Don't know any more on this because that would make it stick out of my hood...
I think I am going to try and duplicate the Newman bracket. It uses the stock GM tensioner.
I also have an example of a DIY alternator bracket. If anyone is interested I will re-post pics and specs...
