Default Which Y-pipe with QTP headers?

Ive pretty much made a solid decision on QTP headers, but the general consensus on their Y seems to be that it blows. I was going to get their catted Y, but now I'm looking for other options. What will bolt up to the QTPs? Ive seen it posted that the kooks Y is nice, but also that it will and will not fit the QTP headers. Any and all help/comments are appreciated.

Oh and whats the Flowmaster merge I keep hearing about, thats not the HVMC option is it?

A lot of people buy the cats and go to a local shop and have the fab one up. Or just buy kkok headers and catted y. they are the same design a qtp

QTP y-pipes aren't bad at all. 3 buddies of mine run them and they have no problems except for scapping because their cars are lowered.

I would like to know as well because I am either going to go with QTP and maybe the cutout ORY or I am going to go with Kooks. My car isn't lowered and most likely won't be for a while.

yes they do, because that's what I have hooked up to my QTP's, but the fitment of the Mufflex isn't the best either. Get one fabbed up, if there was a local shop that could mandrel bend one for me, I would have done that the first time....

A local shop wants to charge me just as much as the QTP catted Y (500) for a fabbed Y, for that I'd probably rather just fukin buy the QTP one so screw that option unless anyone actually thinks thats a reasonable price.

Thats what I thought. Maybe he was quoting me plus the cost of cats, but either way thats still quite expensive

Yeah it has to be the cats that are setting the price so high. Look at it from this point though. If they are doing the custom Y then you should get a good fit and it should tuck up nice

It blows? It blows air like no other Y-pipe (save for the Mufflex Y-pipe of similar design). Go ahead and purchase an inferior Y-pipe from another company. I only lost 2rwhp thru the catback on my QTP Dual Elec. Y-pipe setup. The design, using the Flowmaster Scavenger Merge Collector flows as well as many TD setups.

Mine were fragile also. Replaced 2 in 2 months. Great customer service however. I'd go with the QTP non cutout Y (for better clearance) and put one QTEC in the I-pipe if I had to do it again.

Qtp And Kooks Are The Same In All Areas But The Collector Qtp For Some Reason As A Better One Why I Really Don't Know. But...........the Y-pipe From Kooks Is Said To Flow Better I Just Order The Whole Set Up For My Car After Seeing Results Of Kooks On A Friends Car. 1 3/4 S.s. Long Tubes. W/ Cats And Y-pipe. Dont Forget O2 Sensor Extensions.
