I have done some searching for lids, and I know a lid is a lid. But where do you get them from? any good sites that you guys know about? Do they well them in kits, os everything I need is there or do I need to order other things?

Most of our sponsors sell them, just search though the sites and get the one that you like the best. You can get clear ones, carbon fiber, etc...

My advice....if it doesn't bother you, buy a used one from a board member. That's how I got my MTI w/K&N for $60.

It's a lid made of plastic. You'll see how simple it is. It's amazing how a simple, crappy poured/molded piece of plastic will give you 10hp.
All of the sponsors are very friendly. Don't hestitate calling them and asking them some questions regarding your purchase.

If anything, you do need a little breather filter to close off that hose that you'll be disconnecting from the passenger side of the stock lid. It's a tiny cone filter that may or may not come with the lid. If it doesn't come with the lid, go to Autozone and search for it in the ricer section. They have it.

So, put the little breather filter on the end of the hose and zip tie that hose off to the side, away from moving parts and belts.

This is going to be the easiest mod that you can do to your car, so don't sweat about it.

since we all know a lid is a lid is a lid... IMO a lid should be bought based on...

a) the most cosmetically appealing, or
b) the cheapest in price (if money is tight)

fitment of lids can vary even between the same brand, so again i would just consider the 2 factors above when choosing a lid

If your a Magazine Racer then you'll def. go with the SLP Lid GM High Tech Performance did a test and SLP had best performance, fitment, and finish-however a lid is a lid-fitment is the only real difference other than appearance-

Get whatever you can

Like everyone has said, it all matters what the price and looks. I went with TSP because they were on sale. They all fit about the same.

Go to thunder racing (-------> spon.) and get the whisper lid. Its a decent deal, Lid...choice of K&N or powershot(powershot in my opinion) filter....breather filter....and oh boy, a cleaning kit all for $155. Thats not too bad. Good luck!

Ive owned an MTI lid, Whisper lid, TSP lid and now have an SLP lid. The SLP lid fit the best by far. Its a nice peice and can be had for about 90.00 dollars new.
