Hi Folks
I just received my AMW catch can - looks very well made and should do a good job. The did all the engineering/Fab for you, so why not use something that will work. I am going to install this weekend - should be a piece of cake.

I purchased one from azone and I'm glad I didn't spend a lot of money because not much oil is passing through that line. If you want more info, pm me and I'll put up a new post with pics.
That's not the case with LS1 motor's.. they ingest alot of oil. Catch can works great at stopping it.

Another vote for a AMW kit.

I figured that since mine was a POS '98, I probably have this issue.
I searched on line for some DIY catch can designs and I found some pretty cool DIY catch can projects but after searching far and wide, the simplest one I came across was a small fuel filter in-line with the PCV hose.
Of course, if you're LS1 does indeed have the oil consumption issue, this is not a permanent fix since there is not very much capacity in this design.

Yes, my website sucks! It's a work in progress and this went from concept to final in 1 hour.
Is it just me or is your hose connected in the wrong place. You have the hose connected to the throttle body. Its suppose to go right behind & below the throttle body connecting to the intake. Well, at least thats were mines at, & all the others Ive seen. Someone please correct me if Im wrong.

Oh man! I put the filter in line with the vent tube that goes to the top of the valve cover! LMAO I feel like a retard! I thought that was the PCV. Maybe that's why I hardly getting any oil in that line!
I'll be deleting my previous posts at this time!!!
Thanks! hahaahahha

No problem! Yeah once you swap it around & hook it into the intake you see a good bit of oil then. Heres an old pic of my home made catch can. Maybe you can tell.

AMW's nice but rediculously exspensive. Ebay has em like $15-$30.

I have the same one Z'mnypit has. It's a Husky inline filter for an air compressor. Available at Home Depot. Cost about $12. Works great.
