Default How will Pacesetters sound with Borla?

Hey. My car now has the Borla Cat back exhaust on it. I am looking into getting some Pacesetter LTs and Y-Pipe and QTP electric cut out. WIll this be raspy at all or really loud? Can some with htis set up or head this please sort of explain what it will be like? Thanks, Also with the cut out. Right now its decently loud but has a nice deep tone.

IMO borla needs cats to sound any good, ESPECIALLY if you bypass the muffler with anything other than the solid plate. The only cat-backs I like with an ORY (that I know of thus far) are hooker and the SLP dual/dual. Other than those (and possibly magnaflow) I'd want to run high flow cats for sound purposes. Or get duals.

i second that. if you are even thinking about getting a cam, or already have one, i would STRONGLY suggest keeping your cats. this thing is damn near ear piercing.

Borla sounds like *** through an ORY. Do yourself a favor and get a Hooker caback while you can, put your Borla on ebay and you might even come out ahead.

I have Pacesetter LT's, ORY and hooker catback. I love the sound. not too loud around town, but bury the pedal and EVERYONE looks. there is a little bit of interior ressonance between 20-30mph under slight acceleration but its not bad at all.

I also plan on getting a mild cam down the road. Future plans are as follows.
1.) LTs with cut out and y-pipe
2.) LS6 intake with ported TB
3.) 3800 stall with shift kit and cooler
4.) Mild cam
5.) 100 dry shot

So should i upgrade my cats to help the sound? I really want a nice rumble at idle and screaming at WOT and above 4k, thanks. but not too much rasp.

The difference w/ or w/out cats isn't that big. All the backpressure does is relocate the TQ to a different RPM range. W/ cats, you'll get low RPM TQ, and W/out cats you get the Higher RPM TQ.

I have the Borla w/ the WO plate and SLP LT and RT cat'd Y. It makes NICE TQ at the lower RPM ranges. Gives quite a snap when you goose it at about 2800rpm. I love the LT power! My cousin's BF said "It sounded like NASCAR" when I drove by. I think it sounds kind of raspy at WOT anywhere over 3K on the tach. But I had a friend catch my driveby on video and OMG!!! It sounds friggin bada$$!!!! I think my plate is WO, I bought the car w/ it.

I just installed cam (F14) and have hooker LTs, ORY and borla catback. The sound really sucks IMO. Too much rasp at WOT. I think cats would definately tame the rasp. If not, its time for true duals

I love the way my my exhaust sounds (Jethot's, ORY, Borla) Especially at WOT. Sounds like the worlds comming to an end. The car can be heard from a long ways out at WOT, I love it and wouldnt have it any other way.
