I'm pretty torn myself. I was on the edge of ordering QTP LTs with a QTP catted Y and GMMG. I could suck it up and dish out the money, but it would hurt much less to buy the Hooker LTs, ORY, and catback and save over $1000. I am at a disadvantage because I have never hear either one in person. Right now my 00 Z has a flowmaster muffler which came on it when I bought it. I don't know which muffler, but my headers are stock, and my cats are removed from my Y pipe. I like the sound but not the drone. I definitely don't want my car to sound stock, but I would hope that the Hooker setup would be at least as loud (in all driving situations) as what I have now. I would love to save the money and do some other much needed work to my car, but having the best sound possible is most important to me right now.

The Hooker has what your looking for in the cat back you want. Gets loud at WOT, but low RPM just a little louder than stock. I did however get the single tips for exit, don't like split tips on Camaros. Splits do look good on the Trans Am.
Try it with band clamps first and make sure you like everything and the placement. Once you get it welded it's awfully hard to tweak it. Im not sure if I would weld it even after that in case you want to sell it later for whatever reason. just my .02

have fun replacing your muffler after a few years with the hooker because it is not stainless unlike the magnaflow which is and will last a lot longer. The hooker will also look like crap from the rust too...ALL ORY setups have some rasp, that is inevitable, but some are worse then others.
