. the only way the alternator would cause this is if its internal regulator was bad, and you'd have fried more stuff by now

thats why guys run underdrive ASP crank pullies and the overdriver ASP alt pullies for big systems all the time without issue. it actually solves many problems.
however with a stock crank pully i don't see why this should be happening. sounds like something else is gonig on!
